Benefit for Pete Peot at Sevastopol Town Park Sept. 9

On Sept. 9, the Sevastopol community will host a benefit for Pete Peot. Peot is a 1989 graduate of Sevastopol School and has been active in the Sevastopol and farming communities his entire life. Peot, his nine-year-old daughter Haley, and Haley’s mother Casey Heldmann, reside down the road from the Peot family farm.

On June 7, Peot sustained severe injuries to both arms and a foot as a result of a farm accident. He endured a weeklong hospital stay and now faces the loss of work for a minimum of six months. Many neighbors and community members have stepped up to help with the farm as he is unable to do a lot of what is needed to operate a successful farm.

To help alleviate some of the financial burden, a benefit will be held at the Sevastopol Town Park and Pavilion on Sept. 9, 1 – 7 pm. There will be music by DJ Doctor and Glas Hamr. A meal prepared by Sonny’s Italian Kitchen & Pizzeria will be available as well as cold beverages and carnival concessions. There will be a cornhole tournament, silent auction, live auction, bucket raffle, a dunk tank, bouncy house, games and more. The cost is $10 adults, $6 for kids (4-10) and free for kids ages 3 and younger.
