Bernstein Birthday Celebration at Shepard of the Bay Church

Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church in Ellison Bay joins the worldwide celebration of the 100th birthday of Leonard Bernstein; American composer, conductor, educator, musician, and cultural ambassador. Lyric Opera of Chicago singers, Desirée Hassler, Pamela Williams, John Concepcion and Michael Cavalieri collaborate with pianist, Judith Jackson, as they commemorate Bernstein’s masterpieces including West Side Story, On the Town, Peter Pan, Candide, and more.

The free concert is scheduled for 7 pm on May 26. A goodwill offering is accepted. A reception follows the performance so the audience can share their personal concert responses with these musicians.

The next morning, May 27, the Lyric Opera singers return to sing for the 8:30 am worship service.
