Bjorn Bakken Reports

Peninsula Pulse Senior Correspondent Bjorn Bakken writes on the developments in the communities of Fish Creek, Ephraim, and Ellison Bay employing the talents of other local reporters who can cover the meetings when he is otherwise distracted. This is his dispatch dated 24 July, 2008:

The Ephraim Common Council and representatives from Fire District Number 1 held a spirited session on Monday with over an hour’s discussion of the Sunday night sing-a-longs which are enormously popular.

Councilman Helmut Swenson advanced the suggestion that new folding chairs were in order, as the current chairs date back to an age no one could recall. Another suggestion was made that perhaps, “I’ve Been Working on the Railroad” could be retired from the song list.

In other news, Helga Swenson complained that someone was parking a Ford automobile in front of her home several mornings in the previous week.
