Door County Humor: Bjorn Bakken Reports

As always, Peninsula Pulse Senior Correspondent Bjorn Bakken describes, you decide, in his succinct style of dispatch transmitted to the Pulse without editorial content. This is his report filed 24 November, 2008:

The Ephraim Common Council and combined fire districts one, two, and fourteen met to consider proposals to annex Eagle Island, also known as Horseshoe Island, and to close the Ephraim Wetlands, which only report four visitors last summer. Supervisor Knute Swensson suggested selling the wetlands to a casino developer which could develop the site into an alcohol-free gaming facility. Fire district director Hellmut Swensson said he would support the idea, provided that the casino would close at 9 pm each day, and not be open at all on Sunday. Supervisor Edgar Swensson recommended that the slot machines be restricted to maximum bets of 15 cents.

Ephraim resident Oskkar Swensson asked the village officials to get after the operators of the outdoor theater, as they have not shown any films featuring John Wayne for some time.
