Black Friday Beer On Tap at Sway

Local beer fans are invited to Black Friday at Sway – a new beer release event Nov. 24 at Sway Brewing + Blending. On Cold Dark Nights is a beer described by brewmaster Matt Sampson as a fairly traditional stout, and “unlike most stouts that you see craft breweries putting out today that tend to be very sweet and/or high alcohol. We wanted to put out something roasty with plenty of intricate dark malt character, but still keep it very drinkable.”

Out Beyond Ideas is described by Sampson as a new beer that doesn’t really fit into any style category. 

“We took our dark lager (Where The Dark Wind Whirls) last November and put it in our funky oak barrels with our house-mixed culture,” Sampson said. “We allowed the beer to mature and continue developing flavors over a full year in barrels. The resulting beer has some fun dark fruit character – think cherry and raisin – along with notes of dark chocolate from the base beer.”

Both beers will be available in cans and on draft at the event. 

Sway Brewing + Blending is located at 2434 Cty Hwy F in Baileys Harbor.
