Book Recommendation: “Starter Villain” by John Scalzi

Charlie’s estranged uncle made millions in the parking garage business before his unexpected death. Now all Charlie has to do to inherit those millions is to attend his uncle’s wake. He’ll don his only suit and his too-small dress shoes and shake hands with the mourners – then he’ll finally be able to buy the corner bar where all the locals hang out.

Things start going awry when Charlie arrives and the funeral director shows him some of the questionable floral arrangements that have been delivered. Charlie soon discovers that, rather than inheriting parking garages, he has inherited a supervillain business – and a hilariously cutthroat one at that. 

Starter Villain is a laugh-out-loud, don’t-spill-your-drink kind of read.
