Boys Basketball: Clippers Shoot Down Pioneers

Sturgeon Bay’s boys basketball team took advantage of its inside and outside scoring opportunities Friday en route to a 78-43 Packerland Conference home victory over Sevastopol.

The Clippers, who jumped out to a 49-21 halftime lead, had five players end up in double figures led by Jackson Starr with a game-high 15 points. Calvin Richard added 14 points, while Garrett Ulberg, Hayden Tracy and Gannon Evers each scored 13.

Lucas Delsart led the Pioneers with 14 points.

Sturgeon Bay made seven shots outside the three-point arc and 22 field goals from inside, compared to six three-pointers and nine two-pointers for Sevastopol.

The Clippers, who improved to 7-4 in the conference and 10-9 overall, return to action Monday night with a league game at Southern Door.

The Pioneers (0-11, 2-15) host a non-conference game Monday night against the Northeast Wisconsin Christian Homeschool Athletic Association.
