Calendars Wanted for Scandia Residents

As members of the Scandia Task Force, we’ve become aware that Scandia residents were not provided with calendars this year as they have been in years past. Therapists have emphasized to us how calendars can help keep elderly residents engaged and more aware of dates (because many do not use cell phones as part of daily life). 

So we are asking the community: Do you have a 2023 normal-sized picture calendar to donate? Our goal is 75 calendars. Donations can be placed in a box in the Scandia lobby in Sister Bay or taken to any Door County library, where they will be transported to the Sister Bay/Liberty Grove Library. A volunteer will then deliver them to Scandia Village. Any extras will be donated to Bargains Unlimited. We thank all who are able to help. 

Speaking of thanks, a big shout of gratitude goes to businesses such as Main Street Market, Al Johnson’s Restaurant, Culinaria and DC Chocolate Design, which have contributed to recent staff-appreciation efforts; and also to the donors, shoppers, staff and volunteers of Bargains Unlimited, who provide so much support to Scandia.
