Calling All High Rollers

Sweetie Pies is currently accepting entries for its seventh annual High Roller Art Contest. Entries will be displayed and up for popularity vote between Memorial and Labor Days, the winner will be announced at the annual Labor Day potluck supper. The artwork will continue to be shown and available, at the artist’s discretion, for silent auction through October.

Although the contest was at one time only about rolling pins, “this year we are pulling out all the stops and accepting anything that is pie-related and in good taste, if you’ll excuse the pun,” said Renny Lea, Sweetie Pies co-owner and contest organizer. “The work, however, must be original and the piece either functional or simply aesthetic,” she added.

Contest rules and entry forms are available at local artists’ and cooking supply shops or can be downloaded from sweetiepies.us. Deadline for entries is May 24 at 4 pm.
