Charlotte Lukes Leads Mushroom Workshop on July 31

On July 25 at 1 pm, explore a variety of journaling methods during Nature Journaling at The Ridges Cabins, 8288 Cty Q in Baileys Harbor. Craft your own journals, learn about jar journaling, try your hand at illustration, and take a hike to observe nature up close and personal. This family-friendly program is suitable for children 7 and up. Space is limited and advance registration is required. Workshop fees are $15 for members and $18 for the general public. Children under 18 are free.

Enjoy an evening with Charlotte Lukes and learn about her passion for studying and exploring the world of mushrooms at her Lake Lessons presentation, “Mushrooms of Door County,” at 7 pm on July 30 at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall. Admission to Lake Lessons is free. Donations are welcome.

On July 31 at 9:30 am, Lukes will follow her Lake Lessons program with a hands-on workshop, “Fun With Fungi,” at the Cook-Fuller Center, 8166 Hwy 57 in Baileys Harbor. Sharing knowledge accumulated over four decades of study, Lukes will instruct on the varieties of mushrooms that thrive in the Door County landscape. After a brief classroom session, participants will head out on the trails in search of mushrooms in the Sanctuary. Workshop fees are $30 for Ridges members and $40 for the general public.
