Chicago Jazz at Birch Creek

Larry Brown, Birch Creek Jazz I faculty member, is bringing his signature sound of Chicago Jazz for an evening filled with music composed by Leonard Bernstein, as well as other jazz artists. On Sept. 8 Birch Creek hosts “Bernstein at 100: His Jazz Roots.” Though Bernstein is known as a composer of symphonies and musicals such as West Side Story, his jazz roots are deep, with many of the jazz greats – Billie Holiday, Oscar Peterson, Dave Brubeck and more – having performed music composed by Bernstein. Brown will be accompanied by his combo, The Larry Brown Group, for a memorable evening of music.
