Children’s books are gifts that keep on giving, and they’re an easy way to add to your family’s holiday traditions. Here are a few that can be found at your local library.

Red and Green, by Lois Elhert. This book is a fun adaptation of The Night Before Christmas. The holiday cutouts and the large, simple text make it a perfect holiday book for a beginning reader.

Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Lost Christmas, by A. Heim and A. Ruiz. This heartwarming sequel brings the Grinch back to life 65 years after the original book, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, was published. The same illustrated characters and rhyme return, but the storyline has a new twist.

Elves Are the Worst!, by Alex Willan. In this hilarious holiday story, Gilbert the Goblin is out to prove that goblins are better workers than elves. An installment of The Worst! picture book series, this is a laugh-out-loud read that shares a feel-good message about teamwork.

Merry and Hark: A Christmas Story, by A. Tucholke and by R. Santo.  If you want a holiday book you can enjoy year long, this is the one for you. It shares a whimsical adventure story alongside information on owls and their habitats.
