Churches of Northern Door Present “Blue Christmas”

Sometimes, it seems that the Thanksgiving turkey has barely cooled before lights surround the community, neighbors host holiday parties, and songs of the season play on the radio.

Though themes of the season include joy and peace, for many, the holiday season may be a difficult season, for various reasons: loss through death or divorce, the pain of the first holiday without a beloved family or facing yet another holiday with a difficult family, debt or unemployment, being new in a community, health problems, ect.

Sometimes, it is challenge to partake in the celebration. For that reason, the churches of Northern Door County will offer a “Blue Christmas” worship service Sunday, December 21, at the Sister Bay Moravian Church.

The program will include prayer, Scripture, candle lighting, and music. Everyone is welcome to the 3 pm service that will be followed by a brief time for light refreshments and fellowship.
