Climate Change Coalition Receives Brico Fund Grant

The Climate Change Coalition of Door County (CCCDC) is pleased to announce it received an $11,000 Brico Fund grant to support 2017 operations. Brico Fund focuses on building the collective capacity of people and organizations to actively and sustainably improve the civic, cultural and natural environment. One of their priorities is to improve the water quality and quantity of Lake Michigan and surrounding waterways.

This generous support will enable the coalition to strengthen efforts to engage community leaders and members of the public in meeting the challenges of climate change by raising awareness, facilitating open dialogue and fostering cooperative action.

Already a strong presence in Door County, CCCDC has partnered with the Lakeshore Natural Resource Partnership (LNRP) for planning and development resources that will guide the coalition’s goal to develop into a regional network across the lakeshore. LNRP is the region’s leading environmental advocate for the waters of northeast and east central Wisconsin and currently provides support and leadership to seven local watershed groups and three regional networks.
