Clippers Score Late, Top United in Girls Soccer

Alexis Olson scored in the 79th minute on an assist by Paula Wienke to lift Sturgeon Bay’s girls soccer team to a 1-0 victory over the Sevastopol/Gibraltar United in Thursday’s match at Pioneer Stadium in Institute.

Clippers goalkeeper Isabella Jimenez-Seyfer made three saves to record a shutout.

Sevastopol/Gibraltar goalkeeper Lanie Brauer, who stopped a Sturgeon Bay penalty kick in the first half, made seven saves.  

The Clippers, who defeated the United for the second time this season after winning 2-1 in the first match two weeks earlier at home, evened their record to 3-3 going into Friday night’s game at Clark Field against Peshtigo.
