Clippers Win Packerland Boys Golf Title

Sturgeon Bay’s boys golf team is this year’s Packerland Conference champion.

At Thursday’s 18-hole conference tournament at Wander Springs in Greenleaf, the Clippers (377) won the league title by 20 strokes over runner-up Southern Door (397), followed by Kewaunee (417), Peshtigo (421), Sevastopol (428), Oconto (429) and Gibraltar (452). 

Peshtigo’s Grant Bauman carded the top individual score at 77, followed by Gibraltar’s Finn Salm (82), Southern Door’s Finley LaVine (85), Sturgeon Bay’s Tre Wienke (87) and Kewaunee’s Evan Maccaux (89) rounding out the top five.

When including the results of nine-hole Packerland meets this spring, the final league standings have Sturgeon Bay as the conference champion, followed by Southern Door, Peshtigo, Oconto, Sevastopol, Kewaunee and Gibraltar. 

The individual All-Conference awards include Bauman being named as the Player of the Year, along with Bauman being on the first team with LaVine, Salm, Wienke, Maccaux and Sturgeon Bay’s Isaak Aune.
