Community Choir Joins with New Day Singers Jan. 27

The Community Choir of Door County (CCDC) will join voices with the New Day Singers to present Total Praise, a gospel music concert on Jan. 27, 4 pm, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Sturgeon Bay. Door County resident Hervy Hodges will also perform during the concert with his family and friends from the Milwaukee area.

Sturgeon Bay Schools elementary music teacher Cheryl Pfister leads the 40-plus members of the CCDC, who range in age from early 20s to 80s, come from all walks of life and serve on a variety of boards and organizations throughout Door County. CCDC will perform “Let All the People Say Amen,” featuring Paul Kasriel as a vocal soloist; and “The Storm Is Passing Over.”

The New Day Singers are the goodwill ambassadors of the Peninsula Singers. The group performs year-round at various venues and will perform several songs before combining with the Community Choir to sing “Greater Than” by Brian Tate. For the grand finale, both choirs will join with Hodges on “Total Praise” by Richard Smallwood.

Admission is free, but an offering will be collected for Feed & Clothe My People. Audience and performers are encouraged to donate cash and nonperishable food items.
