Community Foundation Currently Accepts Applications for Sustainability Grants
The Door County Community Foundation is currently accepting applications from local charities for Sustainability Grants. Sustainability grants help pay the salary of a case manager working with troubled teens, buy music stands for a local performing arts group, install piping to bring water to a community garden, and pay teachers to help with math and reading instruction during the summer.

Coastal Byway Committee to Review Enhancement Projects
The Door County Coastal Byway committee will review applications by local organizations for projects to enhance traveler experience along the State Scenic Byway corridor.

Annual Heart-y Breakfast Benefits Gibraltar Destination ImagiNation Team
The Sister Bay Moravian Church heartily invites the community to the Annual Heart-y Breakfast on Feb. 16, 8 – 10:30 am. Scrambled eggs, pancakes, fried potatoes, corned beef hash, cereal, muffins, grapefruit, juice, coffee and milk will be served for $8/adults and $4/children 6 – 12 (the family maximum is $24).

The Namur Belgian Heritage Foundation recently received a grant of $1,500 from the Historic Preservation Fund and the Clifford and Clara Herlache Foundation of the Door County Community Foundation.

“Gifts from the Heart,” a silent auction fundraiser to benefit Scandia Village’s Capital Campaign, will be held until March 1 at 2 pm. Upcoming Alzheimer’s/ Dementia Support Groups at Golden LivingCenter-Dorchester
An Alzheimer’s/dementia care support group meets from 4 to 5 pm on the fourth Tuesday of the month at Golden LivingCenter (GLC)-Dorchester. Family members and caregivers of people with dementia/Alzheimer’s disease do not need to have a loved one at GLC-Dorchester to attend.

Family Centers of Door County to Distribute Cold Weather Clothes
The Family Centers of Door County are joining forces with Vista to distribute cold weather clothing items to Door County residents in need. Vista completed a successful Cold Weather Clothing Drive on Feb. 4 thanks to the generosity of Door County communities.

Neighbor-to-Neighbor Announces 2012 Community Impact
1,079 individuals benefited from services provided by Neighbor-to-Neighbor Volunteer Caregivers in 2012. Door County residents saved more than $400,000 in medical expenses by utilizing the organization’s services and 113 volunteers donated 3,983 hours for the organization.
