Jeanne seems to know all her customers.
A warm smile and a pleasant look,
Nothing makes her ever so pleased,
Then pairing them with exactly the right book.

A county librarian for 22 years,
Insists volunteers provide most service here.
Grows hops while gardening on her “hobby farm.”
Hey Jeanne, can I try some of that beer?

Her library today is a social place;
Not just books and shelves and new technology.
The only person that some will speak to for days,
She says, “This place has its own personality.”

Served eight years on Jacksonport’s town board,
Sorting through all those budgets and bids.
An environmentalist that serves on The Ridges board, too,
Insists her real loves are books, people and working with kids.
