County League Baseball Season Canceled

The ballfields of Door County League Baseball will be empty this summer.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, organizers of the Door County Baseball League decided Saturday to cancel the summer season.

“I talked to all of the managers and nobody wants to infect anybody else,” league commissioner Rick Gigot said. “While the managers didn’t exactly say cancel it, they agreed with the decision.”

County League Baseball games routinely attract hundreds of spectators of all ages to the games on Sunday afternoons. The league had previously postponed games through Memorial Day.
