Creative Aquifers Concludes Midsummer’s Music Season

Midsummer’s Music 2018 summer season concludes with the Creative Aquifers program, featuring music by Samuel Barber, Paul Schoenfield, and Franz Schubert, and vocals by international mezzo-soprano star Susan Platts.

The ensemble will perform two pieces by Barber, “Adagio for Strings, Op. 11” and “Dover Beach, Op. 3,” Schoenfield’s “Café Music,” and Schubert’s Quintet in A Major (“The Trout”), D. 677.

Creative Aquifers concerts are 7 pm on Aug. 31 at Birch Creek; 3 pm on Sept. 1 at The Clearing Folk School; 3 pm on Sept. 2 at Hope United Church of Christ; and 3 pm on Sept. 3 at the Labor Day Benefit at Björklunden. Most concerts are $29 for adults, $10 for students, and free for children 12 and under. The Labor Day Benefit is $95 for adults, $75 for students, and free for children 12 and under. The Labor Day Benefit includes a pre-concert social time, the concert, a silent auction, a wine pull, and a reception with heavy hors d’oeuvres.
