The Friends of Plum and Pilot Islands (FOPPI) will host two sunset cruises – July 15 and Aug. 19 – aboard the Island Clipper. They’ll leave Gills Rock at 6 pm and go around Plum and Pilot islands to allow participants to see the islands’ historical lighthouses, lifesaving station and fog-signal buildings. The sunset will serve as the finale of the two-and-a-half-hour tour.
Hors d’oeuvres and nonalcoholic beverages will be provided, and wine and beer will be available for purchase. Proceeds of the tickets ($110 each) will support the general restoration and preservation efforts of these maritime buildings, in coordination with the United States Fish & Wildlife Service.Find out more and purchase tickets at plumandpilot.org.
