David K. Dodd Releases “Star Dawning”

Local author David K. Dodd has released his second novel, Star Dawning, a family drama that is a sequel to his previous novel, Star Shooting.

Set in the prison town of Leavenworth, Kansas, the story reveals how three separate families, striving to survive, interconnect in ways that are unpredictable and heartwarming. Star Dawning is a fascinating psychological story of individual redemption and the restorative power of family.

Dodd, a former psychologist, explains his motivation for writing Star Dawning. “Although there are six main characters, each struggling to overcome personal problems, the real focus is on families. As I grow older, I am realizing that personal happiness is less about individual accomplishment and more about family. Families can protect us, or damage us, stop us just short of disaster, or drive us right over the edge!” In Star Dawning, the dreams, or nightmares, of the characters are realized through their families.

A book signing by the author is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 1 from 10 am – 1 pm at Book World in Sturgeon Bay.

Star Dawning is available in print for $14.95 at Book World in Sturgeon Bay and Sister Bay; Passtime Books in Sister Bay; Novel Ideas in Baileys Harbor; and Hide Side Corner Store in Fish Creek. It is also available in both paperback and eBook at Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com. For more information, visit http://DavidKDodd.com/home.html.
