The Door County Historical Society will host – and Jim Draeger will present – the monthly dinner program Bottoms Up on Aug. 26, 6 pm, at the Institute Saloon, 4599 Hwy 57 in Sturgeon Bay.
Wisconsin native Draeger is a co-author of the national-award-winning books Fill ’er Up: The Glory Days of Wisconsin Gas Stations and Bottoms Up: A Toast to Wisconsin’s Historic Bars and Breweries, which begins with inns and saloons, then explores the rise of taverns and breweries, the effects of temperance and Prohibition, and more.
The price of $21 per member and $25 per guest includes a chicken dinner. Make your reservation by sending payment to the Door County Historical Society, P.O. Box 71, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235, by Aug. 19.
