DC Historical Society Dinner to Host Jim Draeger

The Door County Historical Society will host – and Jim Draeger will present – the monthly dinner program Bottoms Up on Aug. 26, 6 pm, at the Institute Saloon, 4599 Hwy 57 in Sturgeon Bay. 

Wisconsin native Draeger is a co-author of the national-award-winning books Fill ’er Up: The Glory Days of Wisconsin Gas Stations and Bottoms Up: A Toast to Wisconsin’s Historic Bars and Breweries, which begins with inns and saloons, then explores the rise of taverns and breweries, the effects of temperance and Prohibition, and more.
