DCA’s Play It Forward Raises More than $8k

Door Community Auditorium (DCA) presented its annual Play It Forward event June 12 at a new location: Stabbur Beer Garden. The donations made during this concert by Door County musicians who contribute their time and talent to a worthy cause went to Alice Mattson, a young Door County resident who’s fighting leukemia.

Attendees donated $3,455 at the event, of which $1,500 was designated for the Go Bo! Foundation. The Johnson family matched concertgoers’ contributions with their own $3,500 donation to Alice Mattson’s family. During the week leading up to the event, an additional $1,435 in donations were contributed to Alice’s GoFundMe page. The grand total – $8,390 – nearly doubled the past record for Play It Forward donations.
