DCSA Wraps Up Another Successful Season

Door County Soccer Association (DCSA) wrapped up their 30th summer season with an end of the year meeting for coaches and board members. Registration showed an increase from last year with 373 players in Sturgeon Bay, and including players in the Northern Door and Washington Island leagues, registration is over 500.

Next year, the cost remains the same at $45 (family discounts and aid for financial hardships are available).

Soccer Association for Youth (S.A.Y) provides the cheapest and most popular summer sport in Door County. S.A.Y. provides kids the opportunity to learn the sport of soccer and have fun. Teams are put together via a blind draw and every player gets to play at least half of the game.

Also discussed at the meeting was the recognition of the Door County Parks Department for the new S.A.Y sign and the care of the fields; volunteer coaches and board members were also thanked and recognized.

The board for 2013 is Scott Bader, Bob Desotelle, Tracy Glasheen, Matt Luders, John Safranski, and Dick Clark.

Registration for next year begins January 1; to register visit http://www.DoorSoccer.Com.
