DCU Boys Swimmers Drop Dual Meet to Pulaski

The Door County United (DCU) cooperative high school boys swimming team finished first in six events, placed second in three others and added a pair of third-place finishes Thursday, but lost its home dual meet to Pulaski, 98-58.

Jack Monfils led DCU in team points with 16, followed by Ezra Linnan with 13.5 and George Atwell with another 12.5.

DCU’s four individual firsts included Monfils winning both the 200-yard individual medley (2 minutes, 7.33 seconds) and 100 breaststroke (1:04.44). Linnan won the 100 freestyle (56.39), and Atwell had the top time in the 200 freestyle (2:11.19).

The two DCU relays finishing first included Logan Filar, Luke Filar, Monfils and Linnan in the 200 medley relay (1:51.13) and Logan Filar, Luke Filar, Atwell and Monfils in the 400 freestyle relay (3:54.42).

“Although it is early in the season, the boys are beginning to see times drop in their individual and relay events,” said DCU head coach Erin Peterson.

Linnan added a second-place finish in the 50 freestyle (25.25), Logan Filar placed runner-up in the 100 butterfly (1:01.4), and Linnan, Luke Filar, Atwell and Logan Filar finished second in the 200 freestyle relay (1:44.14).

DCU’s third-place finishes included Atwell in the 500 freestyle (6:25.65) and Luke Filar in the 100 backstroke (1:14.21).

Up next for DCU is a meet Dec. 14 hosted by Chilton High School.
