DCU Boys Win Three Events at Home Triangular

The Door County United (DCU) cooperative boys swimming team won three events and placed second in five others at Thursday’s triangular meet against Kiel and Two Rivers at the Door County YMCA in Sturgeon Bay.

Kiel topped the team standings with 136 points, followed by Two Rivers (82) and DCU (74).

DCU’s 200-yard medley relay team of Ezra Linnan, Jack Monfils, George Atwell, Logan Filar placed first with a season-best time of 1 minute, 49.27 seconds.

Linnan, Luke Filar, Atwell and Monfils won the 200 freestyle relay (1:39.86).

Logan Filar won the 50 freestyle (24.28) and matched his best time of the season.

Luke Filar, Atwell, Logan Filar and Monfils finished second in the 400 freestyle relay (3:42.75). 

Linnan placed second in both the 100 butterfly (1:02.39) and 100 backstroke (1:02.51).

Monfils finished runner-up in the 500 freestyle (5:20.73), while Logan Filar placed second in the 100 breaststroke (1:09).

Luke Filar added a third-place finish in the 100 freestyle (56.82).

Up next for DCU is Saturday’s meet at Shorewood High School near Milwaukee.
