Destination Sturgeon Bay to Close Part of 3rd Avenue on Saturdays

Destination Sturgeon Bay (DSB) will start closing 3rd Avenue between Jefferson and Michigan from 4 to 10 pm on Saturdays starting July 11, transforming those three blocks into a pedestrian walkway for shopping and dining. The program will run through the last Saturday in August.

With the street closure, dining businesses will have additional space in which to distance their outdoor tables and waiting areas. And with shops open later, retailers may attract additional customers.

The goal is to keep people moving throughout Sturgeon Bay. Then next year, when the West Waterfront promenade is finished, DSB may include that area through a nighttime market.

Any business off of 3rd Avenue that’s interested in setting up a pop-up shop should call 920.743.6246 or email [email protected]. Without events this season, DSB is working to add safely distanced and open-air activities to help create energy throughout Sturgeon Bay.
