Door Community Auditorium Presents “Airplane!”

From a choice of four films, Door Community Auditorium patrons voted Airplane! as the final movie in this year’s Souper Movies Series. The movie will be showing on Saturday, March 5, at 2 pm at the Door Community Auditorium. Admission is free and tickets are not required, but attendees are asked to bring a canned food donation to benefit Feed My People.

Written and directed by Jim Abrahams, David Zucker and Jerry Zucker, Airplane! was released in 1980. The film features several noted actors including Robert Hays, Julie Hagerty, Leslie Nielsen, and Peter Graves. Airplane! is a comedy film that spoofs disaster airplane movies, specifically the 1957 film, Zero Hour. Although a romance is at the root of the plot, the film is laden with slapstick and spoof comedy.
