Door County Art Benefits Habitat for Humanity

Gallery 42 in Juddville had a novel idea: help others with the sale of art. So, when Gallery 42 opened, gallery owners Tim and Julie Nyberg decided to make it apparent to gallery visitors that a percentage of all sales of original art at the gallery would go to benefit Door County Habitat for Humanity.

In the gallery’s first year, this resulted in a check to Habitat for $1,140. Gallery 42 just wrote a third quarter 2008 check to Habitat because they learned of an immediate need for funds. The check totaled $1,880.

The Nybergs have supported Habitat for Humanity International for years and have now concentrated their efforts towards Habitat’s Door County affiliate.

“With the opening of our gallery in Door County, we thought, why not take a percentage right off the top to help others in need?” said Nyberg. Continuing, “There are many worthy causes in Door County – and one of the most basic is affordable housing. Habitat for Humanity has created a wonderful program for providing housing for those in need. We’re so happy to support their efforts in our home county. Together we can all make a difference.”
