Door County Art News: Season’s End at Edgewood Approaches

Edgewood Orchard Galleries will be closing for the 2008 season on Sunday, November 2 at 5 pm. A “Closing Day Reception” will be held on Sunday, from 10 am – 5 pm, to say “Thank You” to all of the visitors to the gallery who helped make the 2008 season a success. Refreshments will be served throughout the day, and the public is welcome.

Sunday, November 2 will also mark the close of the gallery’s final show of the season, Exhibit V, titled “An Artist’s Food for the Soul” with the artwork from this show serving as the inspiration for the upcoming Edgewood Orchard Galleries cookbook of the same name. All proceeds from sales of An Artist’s Food for the Soul will be donated to programs benefitting children; the cookbook is expected to be available for purchase next May when the gallery opens for its 40th anniversary season.

The final exhibit of Edgewood Orchard’s season also includes the gallery’s 10th annual “Gifts from the Heart” show of artwork especially good for gift-giving, with many beautiful holiday ornaments still available. Free holiday gift wrapping is available.

Edgewood Orchard Galleries is located on Peninsula Players Road, one block east of Highway 42, between Egg Harbor and Fish Creek. Regular hours are 10 am – 5 pm daily through November 2.
