Two works of art by Baileys Harbor artist Jan Comstock were selected as finalists in the “Richeson 75 International – Figure & Portrait 2011” exhibit.
The two pieces of artwork will be on display until November 4 at the Richeson School of Art and Gallery, as well as on their online gallery. A third piece was given meritorious status, though not included in the exhibit. However, the piece will be included, along with the finalists, in a full-color hardbound publication under the same title as the exhibit. Hundreds of worldwide entries were received and reviewed by awards juror, world-renowned portraitist Everett Raymond Kinstler, N.A.
The Richeson School of Art & Gallery is located at 557 Marcella Street in Kimberly, Wisconsin. The gallery is open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10 am – 5 pm; Wednesdays from 10 am – 8 pm; and Saturdays from 10 am – 4pm.
Comstock’s artwork was also featured on Oil Painters Of America online showcase for the summer of 2011.
