Door County Arts: Fountain Featured in Fish Creek

The art of Doug Fountain is currently on display at the Santa Fe Shp in Fish Creek.

Fountain embodies the spirit and the power of the Great American Indian. A direct descendant of the legendary Chief Sitting Bull, Fountain and his family are proud members of the Devil’s Lake Dakota Sioux.

This distinguished legacy uniquely enables this extraordinary artist to use the knowledge and wisdom of his heritage to create his original, one-of-a-kind, limited edition Native Art.

These rare, museum-quality pieces are conceived on the legends and traditions of his people, the strength of their character, their struggle for survival, their honor and respect for Mother Earth and Father Sky, and the ultimate power of the Sacred Great Creator.

Fountain believes he was called to his creative work to elevate the awareness of the tradition of the culture of the Native American Indian, and their universal love and respect for the Earth and all its properties.

“The greatest lesson I’ve learned over the years,” states Fountain, “is to honor your heart, and to live by your heart.”
