Door County Town Hall Meeting for Door County Arts in Fish Creek

Door County Visitor Bureau (DCVB) President Jack Moneypenny has called a Town Hall Meeting for every artist and arts organization in Door County. This community forum is an effort to allow everyone a chance to express their opinions about what they envision for continued success in an arts-related business. The meeting will take place on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at Door County’s Door Community Auditorium, 3926 Hwy 42 in Fish Creek, from 1 – 4 pm.

“We need to listen to everyone and compile the ideas and comments. Then we’ll go through the list and remove all the ‘me’ issues and concentrate on the ‘we’ ideas that will benefit the greater good,” Moneypenny said.

An Advisory Council will be formed to develop action and/or implementation plans that the DCVB could realistically carry out. Input is expected on a number of diverse topics.

Because this is a public information-gathering session, no formal agenda exists but all interested parties are encouraged to attend. This includes visual artists, arts organizations and performing arts including music, theatre and dance. Participants are encouraged to come with ideas about how the arts integrate into the fabric of Door County and how that might be presented to our visitors. People unable to attend the meeting may express their thoughts by email to the DCVB’s Sally Everhardus by December 18 to [email protected].

Timing of the meeting is in response to Door County arts groups anxious to meet spring calendar deadlines. It is also meant to be inclusive of Washington Islanders and gives them time to participate and catch the 4:30 ferry to the island.
