Door County Half Marathon Seeks Runners for Charities

Do you need more motivation to run this winter?

The Door County Half Marathon and Nicolet Bay 5k’s Run For A Cause program is now accepting runners for its 2017 program.

Run For A Cause gives runners a free registration to the May 6, 2017, race in Peninsula State Park to any runner who raises at least $250 for a local charity. In the six years since the program was launched runners have used it to raise more than $110,000 for charity.

“We encourage charities to recruit supporters to run for them, either individually or as a team,” said race co-founder David Eliot. “It’s a great way to raise funds, but also to gain awareness for your cause through our race marketing.”

More than 72 different charities have benefited from Run For A Cause over the years. Twenty-three runners took the challenge last year for eight different causes, helping these vital organizations improve lives, the environment, and enrich the arts in Door County.

For pledge sheets or more information email Registration Director Jordan Burress at [email protected] or call her at 920.421.4680.

In 2017, dozens of participants will make their 5k or half marathon run more meaningful as the race celebrates the 10-year anniversary. Join their ranks and pound the pavement to help the charities that are vital to making Door County a great place to live.
