Door County Humor: Bjorn Bakken Reports

Peninsula Pulse Senior Correspondent Bjorn Bakken covered all the Town and Village meetings on a chilly Monday night recently, managing to get most of the important issues into his notes, despite having power windows that went down but wouldn’t come up. Here is his dispatch, filed from Ellison Bay on 10 December, 2008:

The Ellison Bay Advancement Board met in joint session with the Sister Bay Tobacco, Firearms, and Alcohol Control Committee which hosted the Ephraim Public Affairs Division to address an issue which was moved to the top of the agenda by unanimous consent. All three governing bodies wanted to obtain a cell phone number or email address for U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulsen. Chairman Daalmar Swenson of the SSBTFACC spoke for all when he said, “Egg Harbor and Fish Creek already put in for a couple billion. We have to move fast before the whole 750 billion is gone!”

Deputy Director Errikk Swensen of the EBAB suggested that the group call congressman whatzhisname to get a contact number. Everyone approved on a voice vote.

In other business, Olaff Swensen of the EPAD wanted to have the combined group put out a request for the outdoor theatre to show more John Wayne movies, but Chairman Swensen suggested that this could be addressed some other time.
