Door County Offers New Food Festival

A brand new culinary event will take place in Door County this September and will feature area restaurants and some of their most popular recipes. The inaugural Door County Restaurant Week will take place Sept. 13 – 20, and offer visitors and residents an opportunity to sample some of the county’s best restaurants with specially designed breakfasts, two-course lunches and three-course dinners.

More than 20 participating restaurants will offer prix fixe breakfast, lunch and/or dinner menus allowing diners to discover new restaurants or enjoy special menus at their favorite spots. Participating restaurants and their menus can be found on a special Door County Restaurant Week website, doorcounty.com/dcrw. Advanced reservations are encouraged by calling participating restaurants directly.

Laura Bradley, marketing and sales manager at the DCVB, said the new restaurant week initiative was a natural progression for the tourism organization’s efforts to promote the culinary side of Door County during the fall season.

“We think it’s a wonderful tie-in with our local restaurants and encourages folks to get out and try places they haven’t before,” Bradley said. “We’ve got a variety of great restaurants participating this first year, from casual breakfast or lunch places to up-scale waterfront dinner spots,” she said.
