Door County TAP Features Copper Box

On Saturday, March 12 at 7:30 pm, Copper Box will return to Third Avenue Playhouse for an evening of accordion-fueled fun.

Copper Box is not always the easiest band to classify. The group crosses musical boundaries effortlessly, drawing inspiration from rock, polka, blues, Tejano and Zydeco. The resulting fusion of sound creates a musical melting pot of American rhythms that has earned them a strong following wherever they play.

Frontman Danny Jerabek plays the accordion with a vivid physicality. His wife Michelle sings and also plays flute, guitar, and saxophone. Bassist Kevin Junemann and drummer Jason Van Ryzin round out the group. These veteran performers have been together seven years and have released five critically acclaimed CD’s: Roots (2003), Sunny Days (2005) Backyard Party (2006), Need a Little Squeezin’ (2008), and In the Summertime (2009).

Tickets for Copper Box are $16 for adults, $14 for seniors and students, and $8 for children. Tickets can be purchased at the theatre box office at 239 N. Third Avenue in Sturgeon Bay, over the phone at 920.743.1760, or by visiting http://www.ThirdAvenuePlayhouse.com. Tickets are also available at Dancing Bear, 13 N. Third Avenue in Sturgeon Bay.
