From humble beginnings as a few friends sitting around reading through scripts, to producing shows such as Wit, Assassins, and Chicago, Isadoora Theatre Company is proud to announce its Tenth Anniversary Season of community theater.

“Over the course of 10 years, Isadoora has gone to theatrical places that few in Door County dare to go,” said founding member and past board president Andrew Olson. “Even more remarkable, is that it’s all managed, coordinated, and produced by a 100 percent volunteer board and zero paid staff.”

To kick off this landmark season, Isadoora will present the world premier of Wisconsin playwright Scott Kopischke’s Eclipse of the Soul.

Directed by Henry Timm, Eclipse of the Soul finds an odd assortment of characters filling the cast of Othello at a local theater company. Drama ensues both onstage and off – the stage manager falls for the leading lady who wants nothing to do with him, actors are missing for rehearsals, and two disinterested teenagers find ways to cause trouble. When rehearsals are further interrupted by the appearance of a mysterious spirit, members of the group must solve the clues to figure out how and why she needs their help.

Members of the cast include Josh Augustson, Ginger Auld, Mackenzie Dielmann, Mary Hall, David Magle, Margaret Magle, Hans Ribbens, David Smrz, and Chris Weidenbacher.

Eclipse of the Soul will play at Third Avenue Playhouse in Sturgeon Bay, from October 6 – 9 and 13 – 16. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances will begin at 7:30 pm. Sunday matinees will take place at 2 pm. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit http://www.isadoora.com or http://www.thirdavenueplayhouse.com.

Isadoora will continue its tenth season in early 2012 with the musical Striking 12 and the story of a church-basement acting class in Circle Mirror Transformation.
