Door County’s Plum and Pilot Islands Fall Short in Voting

The effort to win free windows and doors for the renovation of the Plum Island Lighthouse fell short, as it didn’t make it into the final three in voting for the prize offered by Jeld-Wen Windows and Doors.

Jeld-Wen sponsors an online voting contest for a dozen lighthouses each year to compete for help with restoration projects. Half a million public votes were cast, with lighthouses in Louisiana, Michigan and North Carolina making it to the final round of consideration. The winner will be selected in November.
