Door Pen Winery Wins Medals at Finger Lakes Competition

Three of Door Peninsula Winery’s wines won medals at the 14th annual Finger Lakes International Wine Competition (FLIWC), held in Rochester, New York. Sweet Cherry was awarded a double-gold medal, Blackberry received a gold medal and Plum Loco earned a silver medal.

The double-gold award is particularly significant for Door Peninsula Winery. Not only is the Sweet Cherry wine made with locally grown Door County cherries, it was the first wine produced upon the winery’s opening in 1974.

DPW’s Blackberry wine possesses strong dark fruit aromas and flavors with a touch of fall forest earthiness. The Plum Loco flavor is one of the winery’s popular blended wines, made with plum and cherry wines, with a hint of watermelon added. For more information visit dcwine.com.
