Door Shakespeare Awarded Mini-Grant

On May 22, Door Shakespeare was awarded a Youth in Theater Mini-Grant through the Door County Community Foundation (DCCF) in the amount of $500. Twelve-year-old Beatrix Dramm applied for the grant with Elyse Edelman, Door Shakespeare’s Camp Will Director, as her youth advisor.

“We are so proud of Bea and the work she put into this grant application. She is an absolute star. The whole process took a lot of time, effort and maturity, including the ability to converse with the board easily about Camp Will,” said Edelman.

The grant application required Dramm to complete a two-part process. First, there was a written application initiated by the student representative with assistance from her youth advisor. Once the written application was accepted, the DCCF asked Dramm to make a speech outlining what Camp Will is all about. Her speech was followed by a question and answer session with the eight-member panel at the DCCF, during which Dramm and Edelman answered some more questions about Camp Will.

Dramm has been a Camp Will participant since 2016 and will return to Camp Will this summer.
