Door-Tran Provides Transportation to Veterans

Door-Tran provides transportation at no cost to Door County veterans who travel out of the County for medical services. The Veteran Volunteer Transportation Program was launched in 2011 through a partnership with the County Veterans Services Office and the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC).

“Door-Tran staff and volunteers are honored to serve our local veterans,” said Pam Busch, Door-Tran mobility manager.

Since the Veteran Volunteer Transportation Program began, Door-Tran has served almost 200 veterans and provided more than 1,800 rides. The program travels as far as the Milwaukee VA and as close as medical facilities in Green Bay.

“Anyone interested in joining our volunteer team or need a ride should give us a call,” said Kim Gilson, volunteer coordinator. If you have transportation needs visit door-tran.org or call 920.743.9999.
