Eagles Clinch Packerland Boys Hoops Title

In a matchup between the Packerland Conference’s top-two boys basketball teams, Southern Door clinched the league championship Monday with a 77-61 home victory over Kewaunee.

The Eagles were led by Drew Daoust with a game-high 37 points, which included five 3-pointers. Jared Hawkey added 18 points with Taylor Schaefer scoring 11 more.

The Storm had four players score in double figures led by Payton Kohnle with 17 points, followed by Thomas Stangel with 15, Jordan Lamack with 11 and Sawyer Pribek with 10.

Southern Door, which improved to 14-1 in the conference and 20-3 overall, closes out its regular-season schedule Thursday at NEW Lutheran.

Kewaunee (12-3, 15-6) hosts its regular-season finale Thursday against Sturgeon Bay (4-11, 7-15).

Vikings Top Clippers

Gibraltar’s boys basketball team won Monday at Sturgeon Bay, 69-54.

The Vikings’ Will Friedenfels scored a game-high 22 points. Jake Schar added 17 points with Braden Sitte scoring 13 more.

Garrett Ulberg led the Clippers with 21 points, followed by Isaak Aune with 13 points.

Gibraltar (5-10, 8-14) closes out its regular-season schedule Thursday with a home game against Algoma.

Blazers Beat Pioneers

Sevastopol’s boys basketball team lost at home Monday to NEW Lutheran, 84-25.

Nick Peterson and Frankie de Young each scored six points to lead the Pioneers.

Tristian Lynch led four Blazer players in double figures with 21 points.

Sevastopol (0-15, 2-21) plays its regular-season finale Thursday at Oconto.
