Egg Harbor Filling Public Arts Committee

• The Village of Egg Harbor is looking for people to serve on its new Public Art Committee. Village residency is not required. The committee will advise the board, staff, artists, developers and others on the implementation of the public art program. To get more information call the village office at 920.868.3334.

• The Door County Triathlon is seeking volunteers for this year’s event. Organizers are particularly looking for help on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of event weekend (July 16 – 18).

Every volunteer receives a souvenir event t-shirt and is invited to enjoy a free pig and corn roast after their shift at the finish line party. Proceeds from the triathlon benefit the Door County YMCA and the Friends of the Door County Parks System. • The Baileys Harbor Parks Committee is considering proposals for putting Bocce Ball and shuffleboard courts, as well as horseshoes, at School Park. During its June 21 meeting, the committee decided to consider putting new facilities at the town Recreational Park, where Baileys Harbor recently acquired 10 additional acres. Discussions will continue in July. The town is still awaiting approval from the Department of Natural Resources for its Anclam Beach renovation. If approval is granted, the town will hold a public hearing to gather input from residents about the plan. The Parks committee meets on the third Monday of each month.
