EHF Joins One-Room Schoolhouse Association

Ephraim Historical Foundation has joined the Country School Association of America (CSAA), a network of people and groups devoted to the preservation of one-room schoolhouses. CSAA provides members with the opportunity to exchange ideas, publish information and share resources. The organization also has a conference each June and provides awards and grants.

Coincidentally, the January issue of Ephraim Historical Foundation newsletter has a featured article on the mid-20th-century efforts by Helen Hoeppner Sohns, Warren Davis and others to save a schoolhouse. The history piece is a cliffhanger, though, as the story, “Crisis at the Schoolhouse,” is continued to the February issue.
