Electric Jazz Orchestra in Ellison Bay

The Electric Jazz Orchestra returns in concert to Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church on Nov. 1 at 7 pm. The Electric Jazz Orchestra (EJO) has performed a number of times at Shepherd of the Bay. For many people of “mature years” these concerts brought back warm memories of the Big Band era. For more youthful attenders, the orchestra demonstrated that great music is never confined to any given time. The EJO features a vast repertoire of musical styles including jazz, big band, gospel, funk, Latin, and rock ‘n roll.

Known for its youthful energy and mature sound, the Electric Jazz Orchestra has performed extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Kenya and Puerto Rico. EJO is an auditioned based Big Band and consists of the top musicians at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy High School. The group has given hundreds of performances at schools, parties, banquets, weddings and concert halls.

Through their concerts and fundraising, the group has also donated more than $100,000 to organizations fighting hunger and HIV/Aids in Kenya.

The concert is free and does not require reservations. The EJO will also lead worship at Shepherd of the Bay’s All Saints Day worship service on Nov. 2 at 9 am and 10:30 am.
