Featured Pet: Kuka

The Door County Humane Society (DCHS) would like you to meet Kuka. Kuka’s story is certainly one that is unique and makes her the dog she is today. This past spring Kuka and her five three-week-old puppies were surrendered to DCHS. Her former owner was a truck driver and knew that a trucking lifestyle was not the right environment for a mother with puppies. All of her adorable puppies were adopted in July and now this loving mother is in need of a family to call her own. Kuka is about two years old and is a Rat Terrier mix. She is a fun-loving girl that loves to run and play. Since she was with adults all of her life she is looking for a home without children. When she meets strangers it does take her a little bit of time to warm up to them but once she has become comfortable, she is a blast to be around.

The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 County PD in Sturgeon Bay, is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 pm. For more information call 920.746.1111 or visit doorcountyhumanesociety.org.
