Final Pit Firing of the Season

Ellison Bay Pottery will hold the final Pit Firing Bonfire of the season during the Ellison Bay Arts Fall Art Crawl on Oct. 20 at 5 pm.

John and Diane will decorate their award-winning Pit Fired Ceramic Art and explain the ancient pottery firing technique. Once the pottery is decorated, they will tumble-stack the pottery in an above ground “pit” and build a bonfire over it. Hot, spiced Door County apple cider will be served at the firing.

On Oct. 21 at 12 pm, John and Diane will dig the pots out of the ashes and reveal the new treasures. Hot coffee will be served. This is the last chance to watch the potters create their one-of-a-kind Pit Fired Ceramics.
